Signs They Are Ready For A "Big Kid" Bed

The number one clue that it’s time to upgrade to a toddler bed? If your little one has begun to make attempts (or even been successful) at climbing over the bars of their crib. This change typically happens between 18-24 months of age, or when your child reaches around 3 feet tall.

Typically up to 50 inches long, a standard-size toddler bed often uses the same mattress as the crib. The height of a toddler bed is lower to the ground, making it easy to climb in and out. Some beds offer partial guardrails as an additional safety benefit.
