Before The Furniture Arrives
Once you do a little bit of the legwork upfront, you’ll be well on your way to choosing the right styles to show off in your future living room.
Take Proper Measurements
Understanding the dimensions of the space you’re designing will be a huge time-saver when you start searching for furniture. Be sure to record a complete list of measurements that include the length of every wall, ceiling height, window width and height (including the distance between sill and floor). Additional measurements for hanging light fixtures or fireplaces should be noted as well.
Note: Don’t forget to measure the width of the door through which you’ll be moving and furniture! The last thing you want is having a new sofa stuck outside.
