What is Antimicrobial?
A substance or material that kills or inhibits the growth of microorganisms like bacteria, fungus, or dust mites. Mattresses can often provide ideal environments for microorganisms to multiply and spread. Some individuals experience allergic reactions to these organisms and need to sleep on surfaces that inhibit microbial breeding. Retailers frequently offer antimicrobial mattresses or mattresses that use antimicrobial materials to ensure customers enjoy hygienic sleeping spaces.
Memory foam and latex mattresses are inherently antimicrobial. Many innerspring mattresses and mattress pads include specially treated fill that inhibits the propagation of harmful organisms.
