Summer Interior Design Trends
Published: June 2, 2025
We’re halfway into the year and we’ve already seen some interior design trends come and go (ahem, Whimsigoth) or become a household name (Cottagecore!). But with a new season comes new trends to try. Here are six we think will go viral this summer and the pieces that you can easily incorporate into your own space.

We’re halfway into the year and we’ve already seen some interior design trends come and go (ahem, Whimsigoth) or become a household name (Cottagecore!). But with a new season comes new trends to try. Here are six we think will go viral this summer and the pieces that you can easily incorporate into your own space.

04 Summer Camp Classic

05 Vintage Prep

06 Tomato Everything

Trend 01

Coastal Grandma 2.0

A fresh spin on the internet’s favorite aesthetic, Coastal Grandma 2.0 is this summer’s take on the classic beachside personality of the first iteration. In this new version, the style is a vintage-meets-modern mix that feels curated, not themed. The palette is soft and sun-washed, full of ivory, oat, and dove gray layered with hints of seafoam and pale yellow. The furniture is clean-lined and natural, favoring light oak, cane, and marble over chunky slipcovers or obvious nautical motifs — no “Life’s a Beach” sign here!

“Coastal Grandma 2.0 is less about clichés and more about quiet confidence. Think vintage-inspired lighting, natural textures, and a palette that feels like faded sunlight.”

Trend 02

Fisherman Aesthetic

Inspired by the coast of Maine, the Fisherman Aesthetic is all about rugged coastal charm that feels stylish and grounded. Picture weathered wood, canvas textures, and rope detailing that feels pulled from a dock, not a décor aisle. The color palette pulls from the sea and the shore, like navy, olive, rust, and sand. Add in lantern-style lamps and throw pillows with plaid patterns that work in a cabin in Maine and you’ve nailed the trend.

“The Fisherman Aesthetic is about more than just style—it’s about evoking a sense of place. Think salt-worn textures, practical materials like canvas and rope, and a palette that mirrors the sea and shoreline.”

Trend 03

Maximalist Collector

The Maximalist Collector isn’t about filling space — it’s about telling your story. This design style is all about mixing the old with the new, layering meaningful pieces with trend-forward finds, and creating a home that feels entirely personal. It’s expressive and elevated, never kitschy or chaotic. Think vintage-inspired lighting with velvet sofas next to fringed stools and veined coffee tables. It’s Maximalism with intention.

“Maximalism with intention means curating a space that tells your story. It’s not about more—it’s about meaning.”

Trend 04

Summer Camp Classic

For those who’ve always loved the nostalgic, lived-in feel of a sleepaway camp, this trend is for you. Inspired by the cabins, canoes, and campfires of summer, Summer Camp Classic brings rustic char indoors with a grown-up twist. Expect scout-style pennants, utility-inspired pieces, and pine wood furniture. It’s a no-fuss style with layered lighting and personal mementos that keep it warm and cozy.

“Summer Camp Core channels the carefree charm of childhood retreats—think cabins, canoes, and collected keepsakes—reimagined with grown-up polish and rugged, nostalgic ease.”

Trend 05

Vintage Prep

Vintage Prep is all about bringing that refined, old-school charm into your everyday space. Think fresh-pressed stripes, polished wood, and the kind of silverware you usually save for holidays. It’s classic Ralph Lauren energy, but with a little more warmth and a little less formality. Picture gray-and-white bedding that looks crisp but still inviting, a perfectly patinaed leather chair in the corner, and a vintage portrait or two hanging above a walnut sideboard. It’s preppy, but approachable!

“Vintage Prep is Ralph Lauren by way of the flea market—classic, collected, and full of character. It’s about mixing polished tradition with personal treasures for a look that’s tailored, timeless, and totally lived-in.”

Trend 06

Tomato Everything

Tomato Girl Summer may be over, but it’s evolved into Tomato Everything. This trend nods to the punchy hue of tomato red that can easily add a pop of color to your space, whether it be through striped table cloths, bold lamps, or even the occasional tomato-shaped salad bowl. It’s playful without being childish, retro without feeling tacky. Pair it with warm woods, soft whites, or cool blues for contrast.

“Tomato Girl Summer isn’t gone—it’s just grown up. From checkered backsplashes to bold striped lamps, Tomato Everything brings a juicy hit of red that’s equal parts nostalgic and fresh.”
