Norwalk Furniture

Norwalk Furniture has a rich history as a leading manufacturer of custom upholstered furniture. In 1902, John R. Galpin and Charles Edward Gerken partnered to create Galpin & Gerken. Based in Toledo, Ohio, the company initially repaired and reupholstered furniture. In 1919, the business moved to Norwalk, Ohio, rebranding as the Norwalk Upholstering Company.

Four generations of the Gerken family ran Norwalk Furniture until the economic recession of 2008. As the company struggled financially, twelve Norwalk families came together to purchase and save the business. These local families continue to operate the business, which employs over 200 craftspeople.

Today, Norwalk Furniture produces over 40,000 pieces of handcrafted furniture annually for retailers across America, and customers can customize each item according to their preferences. Choose from almost one hundred sofa frames. Once you’ve selected your base, pick the arm style, back pillow, base, or legs, decorations, and throw pillows.

Additionally, Norwalk Furniture has a carefully curated collection of fabrics and leather that follows the latest trends. You can pick the ideal material to reflect your personality or aesthetics.

The company produces customizable accent chairs, dining room chairs, ottomans, and sectionals. Norwalk Furniture also has a selection of headboards in various colors, patterns, and textures.
