Q: As an influential figure in fashion design, what drew you to the world of furniture?
MK: When Universal approached me about a partnership I was thrilled. It felt like such a natural progression for me. Just like in fashion, where your style can reflect your personality, your home’s design can tell a story about who you are.
Q: What inspired your two collections?
MK: Home to me is my sanctuary, a place that is nurturing and inspiring. The Love.Joy.Bliss. collection is infused with a sense of positivity, happiness, and well-being to enhance overall atmosphere. Tranquility is about embracing fluidity, ease, and comfort. I drew inspiration from nature’s soothing elements such as soft colors, organic textures, and fluid, harmonious shapes and forms.
Q: How would you describe your personal style when it comes to interior design?
MK: My dream home is a blend of timelessness, practicality, and comfort. I'm drawn to clean lines, natural materials, and a neutral color palette, as I feel these elements create a sense of calm and balance.
Q: How do you add more coziness and warmth to your home?
MK: One of the smallest switches I make is adding layers of soft and tactile textiles, such as throws and warm blankets across the lounge, chairs, and benches (like the Tranquility Upholstered Bench). I also like to incorporate some warmer furnishings. Boucle is one of my favorite textures and I am obsessed with the Instyle Chair. My kids love it too!
