Slim cables suspend it so it appears to float in midair, whether suspended horizontally or vertically. Designed and made in New Zealand, its three-sided geometry takes inspiration from microscopic diatoms, the single-celled microalgae essential to oceanic life. The name “Toru” originates with the Te Reo Maori word for “three,” and corresponds to its triangular structure. When lit, the pendant projects a shifting kaleidoscope of light and shadow, adding organic character to its surroundings.
