FAQ How do I clean The Porter? Specifically designed to stay outdoors, The Porter isn’t fussy. Regularly shake out or brush off dust, dirt, and debris (a sign that those spaces between the knots are doing their job), and hose down as needed for a deeper clean. Still see mud or gunk? We recommend using mild soap and lukewarm water, then rinsing your mat and hanging it to dry. Got a stubborn spot? Mix 1 cup of hot water with ½ teaspoon of mild detergent, dab the solution on the stain with a clean cloth, then rinse and air dry. What clearance do I need for it to fit under my door? The Porter is 3/4” high—thin enough for most doors to easily clear its height. Can you leave The Porter outside uncovered? You sure can. It was designed to weather ALL the elements, year-round. Is The Porter non-slip? It doesn’t have a slip-resistant backing like our indoor mats, but due to its substantial weight, it tends to stay put.
