Morocco-based Dounia Home comes at each design with a mission to showcase its country's traditional art forms while pushing the boundaries of modern design. They take great inspiration from ancient architecture, a feature highlighted in the shade's pattern. Wrapping around a globe shade made in recycled metal, a hand-punctured application of holes suggests a traditional trellis pattern. Artisans define the pattern more with an etched line made using a chisel and square hammer. These intricate globes join with connecting stems that give them a sculptural silhouette. A flip of the switch produces a magical experience as light beams up the intricate pattern and casts outwards in a texture, ambient design. The light also shines down for a table glazing glow. About the Brand Dounia Home brings a slice of Moroccan tradition and modern ethical practices to their line of artisan-made lighting.
