Designed in 2020 by Norm Architects, it takes inspiration from rice paper lanterns and both its name and shape from the Japanese term for “Column” or “Pillar.” Anchored from above by a slim canopy, the fixture is suspended from a single wire, surrounded by a grid frame of steel and plastic clad in translucent fabric that reduces direct glare to a warm, even glow. This construction creates a unique character of form while retaining the purity of function to suit a wide range of décor styles.
