You get a taste of this from the simple yet versatile suspension and its clean globe shade. Made from recycled metal, the globe stands out with a shiny surface and clusters of hand-applied holes. These holes take on a Darj W Ktef design, one dating back to 12th century Almohad tile work. The Darj W Ktef design is recognizable by its rhythmic curves and pointy shapes. To define the design, artisans hand-chisel a fine contour around the hole clusters. These holes sharpen the image of light filtering through, creating a dazzling cast display across nearby walls. Complementing the filtered ambient glow, the light also streams through the bottom opening for a table glazing feature. About the Brand Dounia Home brings a slice of Moroccan tradition and modern ethical practices to their line of artisan-made lighting. Founder Dounia Tamri-Loeper brings her education and tenure with Michael Graves to her brand to offer insight into modern Moroccan art.
