Initially designed in 1971, the design was created at a time when it was not technologically feasible to produce a lamp following Panton's first drawings. This 2016 introduction is made with an eye towards sustainably and features a metal shade with state-of-the-art LED technology with timing cutoffs, inside instead of a glass shade. Panton developed Panthella with a pleasant organic shape and a rounded shade to reflect light downwards so that it diffuses evenly throughout any room. This small table lamp gives soft illumination ideal for areas like window sills, shelves, side tables, and other smaller surfaces in modern or retro-modern homes.
