Drawing inspiration from the classic combination of a glass globe that houses a light bulb, this design gives a poetic twist to this simple composition and houses a borosilicate glass shade within an open, die-cast and extruded aluminum cage to create a voluminous space for light to fill. At the top of this fixture, an integrated opalescent diffuser appears to magically provide a soft, even wash of light, eliminating the bulb so often seen in this style of fixture and replacing it with only illumination.
