About HOM Furniture
Established in 1973, HOM Furniture is a premier furniture retailer based in the upper Midwest. The company has undergone several transformations over the decades. The founder, Wayne Johansen, originally established the company to import wholesale and retail gifts. In 1979, he transformed his business into the Waterbed Room, one of the upper Midwest’s top suppliers of flotation sleep products.
In the 1990s, the company expanded into a full-line furniture retailer and adopted a new name: HOM Furniture. Today, the company has locations in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
