Yomut Adler Ensi Oriental Rug -1860
Antique Turkoman Ensi, Yomud origin, with outstanding design, old colors, and overall fair, restorable condition. Quartered garden design field with delicately drawn plant motifs and an excellent variety of secondary motifs and borders including white ground ashik gul minor and rust red curled leaf main border. Terrific double elem or skirt panel design with rust inner panel with bold floral or tree forms and very nice deep natural brown outer panel with rows of small branching plants together with unusual stylized bird motifs. All wool. All vegetable dyes. Good even medium/low pile with a few small areas of center, light scattered wear. Ends rough with both sides showing slight loss and with bottom edge having large gouge and corner rounding. Top end has original kilim folded and sewn over. Small rough spot, possibly crude patch in top edge, corner rounding all around. Reasonably clean, no rot. Rare and desirable Turkoman weaving with good age, possibly 3rd quarter 19th c., excellent design, and easily restorable. Measures 4'4" x 5'5."

Yomud Ensi: Jomud Engsi late 19th C.

Description: four Hatschlou fields with a liver brown background and small offset motifs in color diagonals. Red grounded main border and white ground sidebands with small stems. The upper elem panel with so-called Jomud eagles, the rare drawing of the lower elem with juxtaposed motifs on brown. Partially somewhat thinner, overall good for age.
A classic form with excellent proportions, spacing, and beautifully drawn curled-leaf borders and complete double elems. Great color, with details in blue-green, soft gold, dark indigo, terra cotta, and brick red.

A Yomud Engsi West Turkestan, Third Quarter 19th century
Small holes, bit out of one end, reselvaged, losses to top end. Approximately 5 foot 1 inch, by 4 foot 2 inch. (1.55 m. by 1.27 m.)
