DETAILED DESCRIPTION
gouache and gold on paper, text above and below the miniature in four columns of nasta`liq script, and diagonally in outer margin, a later medallion with découpé calligraphy pasted to margin at right, catchword, the reverse with 29 lines of text written in four columns and diagonally in outer margin, heading in orange and blue on a gold ground with foliate motifs

This leaf originates from a dispersed manuscript dated A.H.1058/A.D.1648-9. Other leaves from this manuscript are in public and private collections including the Fogg Museum of Art (Grube 1962, p.130, no.113), the Arthur Sackler Museum (Canby 1990, pp.114-5, no.1) and the former Rothschild collection (Colnaghi 1976, p.78, no.55).
