What is a Cal-King?
Cal-King stands as the colloquial abbreviated name for the California king mattress. Measuring 72" wide by 84" long, the California king mattress is the largest mattress size commonly available. The same width of a king bed, the California king is extended lengthwise to accommodate individuals taller than 6'8".
Also referred to as a western king, the California king offers two sleepers ample space. Tall people especially enjoy the extra leg room. A California king mattress requires two half-width box-springs as the foundation. King and California King beds may both use the same size flat sheets but require specific-sized fitted sheets.
