Definition of Bed Support
Meaning of the Term as it Pertains to Mattresses
What is a Bed Support?
A minimalistic bed frame system, bed supports prevent a mattress set from sagging and bowing. Common bed frames hold beds up at the perimeter, and bed supports add extra support to the center of the bed. Bed support systems may consist of one or more rails that run horizontally across the bed and use sturdy legs to prop beds up at the center.
Bed supports prolong the life of mattresses by preventing beds from constantly bending. Bed sizes like king and California king require bed supports to properly stabilize beds. The supports also work well with full and queen size beds to prevent bowing. Center support also cuts down on mattress shifting and twisting, which can cause annoying squeaking.
