The Espresso Finish Steals the Show

Our Carrington II storage bed is a contemporary take on the classic sleigh bed. The traditional look is lightened up with off-the-floor styling, open slat details and the absence of a footboard. And while you admire the beauty, don’t miss the practicality. The underbed storage drawers provide an additional place for you to store items without taking up additional space, and, since it is a platform bed, there is no need for a boxspring.

The entire collection is full of showpieces, like the curved features and the silver pulls. But the star is the rich espresso finish. The deep brown of the wood on the storage bed, nightstand and dresser/mirror, with its glossy sheen, demands attention. It’s no wonder we’ve designed the room to make this rich hue the focal point, by echoing the color in some accent bedding and choosing other decorative elements in a natural palette that lets the wood shine.

Looking to Nature to Create a Harmonious Design

When designing a peaceful room, like the master bedroom suite, you can never go wrong pulling color combinations from nature. We decided to treat the bedroom furniture as the focus and added shades of green and brown around it to create a serene setting. We set the bed on our Jessamine area rug. Its leafy pattern and earth-tone colorway coordinate with the bold wall art of a natural subject. To tie everything together, we chose shiny accent pieces that echo the casegoods’ hardware.
